What is the Dis-Chem Million Comforts campaign?
The core purpose of the Dis-Chem Foundation’s Million Comforts campaign is to provide young girls from underprivileged backgrounds with sanitary products that will help them stay in school and to educate them on women’s health in general.
Dis-Chem believes that school girls should never miss a period just because they're having one. Research has found that girls from poor households miss up to a fifth of high school because they cannot afford sanitary pads and are too embarrassed to go to class.
With the Million Comforts campaign, Dis-Chem aims to give our girls back their dignity and to keep them in school
