There is no overall hospital limit for the year on any of the plans.
However, there are limits to how much you can claim for some treatments.
If you need to be admitted to hospital
All plans offer cover for hospital stays.
In an emergency you can go straight to hospital. Alternatively, medically equipped transport can be arranged by calling Discovery 911 on 0860 999 911.
When you know you are going to hospital for a planned admission, you need to tell us beforehand. You must preauthorise your admission to hospital at least 48 hours before you go in.

Excecutive Plan
You get full cover for specialists who we have a payment arrangement with and up to 300% of the Discovery Health Rate, the highest cover, for other specialists.
Comprehensive and Priority Series
Full cover in hospital for specialists who we have a payment arrangement with, and up to 200% of the Discovery Health Rate (DHR) on Classic plans, and up to 100% of the DHR on Essential plans for other healthcare professionals.
Saver, Core and Smart Series
Full cover in hospital for specialists who we have a payment arrangement with, and up to 200% of the Discovery Health Rate (DHR) on Classic plans, and up to 100% of the DHR on Essential and Coastal plans for other healthcare professionals.
KeyCare Series
Guaranteed full cover in hospital for specialists on the KeyCare network, and up to 100% of the Discovery Health Rate (DHR) for other healthcare professionals.
