Vitality Fitness is available to Discovery members who have a qualifying Discovery Bank account linked to Vitality Pay and are 18 years or older. Here's how you can get started:
- Make sure you have a qualifying Discovery Bank account linked to Vitality Pay in your Discovery Bank app.
- Log in to your Discovery app, go to Vitality, and then select Vitality Fitness.
- You can now explore various fitness facilities and exercise classes, book and pay for classes directly in the app, join a gym, engage with fitness facilities, and earn Vitality points.
To access Vitality Fitness, simply download the Discovery App and log in with your Discovery username and password. Once logged in, navigate to Vitality, and select Vitality Fitness.
If you're a Vitality member with an existing gym membership at Virgin Active or Planet Fitness, you can still use Vitality Fitness to book classes at other facilities in the Vitality Fitness network. You can use the Discovery app to easily book and pay for classes.
For instance, if you're a member at Virgin Active, you can use Vitality Fitness to book a yoga class at Joe's Yoga studio. You can pay for these classes using Vitality Pay, Ðiscovery Miles, your package credits, or your free visits (available for Vitality Premium and Vitality Active members only).
Since you already have a gym membership at Virgin Active or Planet Fitness, you cannot use Vitality Pay-As-You-Gym at their facilities.
If you do not have a gym membership you can use Pay-As-You-Gym in a few simple steps:
- Step 1: Log on to the Discovery app
- Step 2: Navigate to "Vitality"
- Step 3: Select "Vitality Fitness"
- Step 4: Select "Scan a QR code" on the Pay-As-You-Gym tile
- Step 5: Scan the QR code at the facility
- Step 6: Proceed with payment
- Step 7: Show the confirmation of payment to the reception desk to gain entry

To find a fitness facility near you, log in to the Discovery app using your Discovery username and password. Once logged in, navigate to Vitality, select Vitality Fitness, and use the "Discover" option to search for a facility. You can view nearby facilities on a map, expand your search radius, and filter facilities by name or exercise type.
Log in to the Discovery app using your Discovery username and password. Once logged in, navigate to Vitality, and select Vitality Fitness. Search for a facility using the "Discover" option to find the facility you would like to contact, either by using the facility's name or using filters. Choose your preferred facility from the search results. Once you have selected the facility, you will be able to view the contact details and other information related to that facility.

If you're a Vitality Health or Vitality Active member with a qualifying Discovery Bank account, you'll receive 2 free visits each month to use in the Vitality Fitness network. If you do not use these visits within the calendar month they were allocated, they will expire. Free visits cannot be used as payment for class packages or for Pay as you Gym visits at Virgin Active and/or Planet Fitness.
Free visits cannot be used at a Planet Fitness or Virgin Active.
If you do not have a gym membership and want to visit a Virgin Active or Planet Finess facility, you can use the Pay-As-You-Gym benefit where your first 3 visits are free. Find out more about Pay-As-You-Gym here: www.discovery.co.za/vitality/pay-as-you-gym
Eligible Vitality members will get up to 24 free visits per calendar year, allocated monthly at a rate of up to 2 visits per month. These free visits will be allocated to eligible members at the beginning of every month. Any unused visits by the end of the calendar month will expire.
If you cancel your booking made using your free visit during the booking cancellation period, you will be refunded a single class credit to use at that facility. If you cancel your booking after the cancellation period, your booking will be forfeited, and you will be charged.
E.g.: Jane's yoga studio requires cancellation to be made at least 8 hours before the class start time. If you cancel your booking 10 hours before the class start time, you will receive a single class credit to use at Jane's yoga studio. However, if you cancel 2 hours before the class start time, you will not be refunded for the booking. Your booking and free visit will be forfeited.
To view your active memberships and packages:
- Log in on the Discovery app
- Navigate to "Vitality"
- Select "Vitality Fitness"
- You will be able to view your active memberships and class packages on the Vitality Fitness page on the app
The expiry date of the package you have purchased is dependent on the facility. Different facilities have different expiry dates for their packages. To check the expiry date of your purchased package, log in to the Discovery app, go to Vitality, select Vitality Fitness, and view your purchased packages from the Vitality Fitness landing page.
To make a class booking using your Vitality Fitness package:
- Log in on the Discovery app
- Navigate to "Vitality"
- Select "Vitality Fitness"
- Use the "Discover" option to find a facility near you
- Select the facility you would like to visit to view their class schedule
- Select the class you would like to book
- Change your payment method to your pay using the credits from your class package
- Confirm your booking and proceed to make payment for the class you would like to book
Vitality will not refund an incorrect package purchased. You will need to enquire directly with the facility to determine if you qualify for a refund.
You may continue to visit the facility for any of your upcoming bookings, however, you will not be able to book any future classes at this facility on the Discovery app. If you would like to continue using the facility you will need to book your classes directly with the facility.
If you have purchased a class package at this facility, your class package will no longer be accessible on the Discovery app, and you will need to manage your package directly with the facility.
Here's how you can book a class on the Vitality Fitness platform:
- Log in on the Discovery App
- Navigate to "Vitality"
- Select "Vitality Fitness"
- Use the "Discover" option to find a facility near you
- Select the facility you would like to visit to view their class schedule
- Select the class you would like to book
- Confirm your booking payment method and proceed to make payment for the class you would like to book
Log in to the Discovery app using your Discovery username and password. Once logged in, navigate to Vitality, and select Vitality Fitness. Your upcoming bookings will appear in the "Upcoming Bookings" section of the Vitality Fitness landing page.
A class booking is required to visit a facility and attend a class on the Vitality Fitness network.

To cancel a class booking, log in to the Discovery app, navigate to Vitality Fitness, and tap on your booking under "Upcoming bookings". Then tap on "cancel booking". Each facility has its own cancellation policy that can be found on the class payment summary screen before the payment is made, and on the booking confirmation screen.
If you cancel your booking after the cancellation period, your booking will be forfeited, and you will be charged.
If you cancel your booking made with your Vitality Fitness free visit after the cancellation period, both your booking and your free visit will be forfeited.
If you are eligible for a refund, you will receive a single class credit at this facility. However, if your cancellation falls outside the facility's cancellation period, you will not receive a class credit. If you cancel your booking after the cancellation period, your booking will be forfeited, and you will be charged.
E.g.: Joe's gym requires cancellation to be made 6 hours before the class start time. If you cancel your booking 8 hours before the class start time, you will receive a single class credit to use at Joe's gym. However, if you cancel 2 hours before the class start time, you will not be refunded for the booking.
Yes, you can cancel your class booking if you are no longer within the cancellation period, but you will not receive a refund and your booking will be forfeited.
You can pay for your class booking using several methods:
- Your qualifying Discovery Bank account linked to Vitality Pay
- Ðiscovery Miles
- Your allocated free visits (Vitality Health and Vitality Active members only)
- Your visits allocated from previously purchased packages
Vitality Fitness is powered by Vitality Pay, enabled by Discovery Bank. Set up Vitality Pay in your Discovery Bank app in 4 easy steps:

Yes, you can book a class and make payment using your Ðiscovery Miles. All payments made with Ðiscovery Miles will need to be made in full using your Ðiscovery Miles. You cannot make payment for your class bookings with a portion of Ðiscovery Miles and the remaining payment in Rands.
No, your Ðiscovery Miles discount will not be applied to any Vitality Fitness class booking when you pay using Ðiscovery Miles.
Yes, you will earn Vitality points for visiting a facility and attending a class. The existing points rules apply, meaning if you attend a class but also record a workout on your device, the highest points will be awarded between the two. Read our points guide for more information.

- Complete a workout of 30 minutes or more.
- Remember to check out by scanning the QR code again.
- Get rewarded with 100 Vitality points.
You will earn 100 points for visiting a facility and attending a class. All existing rules for points earning activities will continue to be applied.
For example, Zinhle receives 100 points for attending a boxing class but records a workout on her fitness device and receives 300 points for her workout. Zinhle will receive the higher of the points achieved for that day (300 points).
No, Vitality points are only awarded for visits made to facilities within the Vitality Fitness network.
Should you experience any issues while trying to access the Discovery app to scan the QR code to achieve your Vitality points for your visit, you will be required to complete a manual check-in and check-out for your visit.
Refer to the facility reception desk to complete the manual check-in and check-out form to record your visit.
All manual check-in and check-out details will be submitted to Vitality and your points will be awarded to you for your visit.
