Access any Virgin Active or Planet Fitness gym on a pay-per-visit basis with no contract or monthly subscription (excludes Virgin Active Collection Clubs). Pay fees from as little as R75 to R120 with Vitality Pay as you Gym and Vitality Pay.
How to get started
Ensure you have a qualifying Discovery Bank account that has been successfully linked to Vitality Pay in your Discovery Bank app.
Simply log in to your Discovery app, navigate to Vitality > Vitality Fitness > Pay as you Gym or open your smart phone camera.
Scan the QR code at a qualifying Virgin Active or Planet Fitness gym reception and confirm your payment. If you are using your phone camera you will be required to log in to the Discovery app. This payment will be automatically deducted from your linked Discovery Bank account.
You will then receive a voucher on your phone which you can either scan at point of entry or give to the gym receptionist to gain entry to the gym.

Vitality Pay is the integrated payments platform which now makes payments faster, smarter, and more convenient. This gives Vitality members access to Discovery Vitality's network of health and fitness partners on a pay-as-you-go basis through Vitality Pay.

Anyone 18 years and over who does not have a Vitality gym benefit active and has a qualifying Discovery Bank account which is linked to Vitality Pay. Vitality Pay gives you access to Discovery Vitality's network of health and fitness partners on a pay-as-you-go basis through Vitality payments.
It's quick and easy to open a Discovery Bank account! Qualifying bank accounts include the Ðiscovery Account with no monthly fees, transaction account for your everyday banking needs, a state-of-the-art standalone credit card and the Discovery Bank Suite.
If you have been blacklisted from a partner, you will not be able to access their facilities.

The Pay as you Gym benefit can be used at any Virgin Active or Planet Fitness gym, excluding Virgin Active Collection Clubs. Gym visits fees start from as little as R75 per visit. Once the gym visit voucher code has been allocated it must be redeemed within 3 hours of allocation.

Please note that you can visit both Virgin Active and Planet Fitness clubs and do not need to choose a single partner or branch.
Once you have entered the gym your 100 points will be automatically awarded. Please note that qualifying workouts must be a minimum of 30 minutes.
Points will be awarded within 3 days of the gym visit. To view your current Vitality points please visit the Vitality Points Tracker.
You can visit multiple gym facilities in a day using Vitality Pay as you Gym. Once you have scanned a QR code at a particular facility and the voucher code has been allocated, it must be redeemed at that facility within 3 hours of allocation.
If you need to re-access your voucher, it code can be found by simply re-scanning the facility QR code within 3 hours of the initial payment or by navigating to 1. Vitality > Vitality Fitness > Upcoming bookings in the Discovery app.
If you would like to visit a different facility on the same day, another payment would need to be made.
The voucher code is single use and is not refundable or transferable.
This visit confirmation screen can be accessed by:
- 1. Re-scanning the QR code at the facility reception within 3 hours of the initial entry and payment
- 2. Log in to your Discovery app > Navigate to Vitality > Vitality Fitness > Upcoming bookings check-in on your latest visit within 3 hours of initial entry and payment.
You will be required to enter a facility through the paid guest fee process and request a partial refund if your Discovery app is not working or if you have any other reasonable cause for not being able to make payment, issue a voucher code, or train at a facility.
Eligible members will need to email their name, surname, ID number, gym branch and proof of guest fee payment to Vitality on PayAsYouGymRefund@discovery.co.za to be refunded the excess amount. This refund will be paid into your Discovery Bank account which has been linked to Discovery Pay. Refunds will take 5-7 working days to be completed. Refunds need to be submitted to Vitality within 3 months of original payment.
Eg: If the guest visit fee is R250 and the discounted Vitality rate is R100, you will be reimbursed R150.
