The Vitality HealthyCare benefit helps you to take better care of yourself and your family through prevention and makes every day personal care easier and more affordable with up to 25% back on HealthyCare items at Clicks or Dis-Chem.
You can get up to 25% back as a Vitality Health member and with Vitality Money, this amount can be boosted by up to an additional 25% back. Visit our website to learn more.
- Log in to the Discovery app or website.
- Navigate to Vitality and click Rewards.
- Click Learn more, then the Activate button. You'll complete a quick activation, which will activate all your HealthyLiving benefits (HealthyFood and HealthyCare) at once. If you've already activated HealthyFood or HealthyCare at 1 partner, you can choose to activate the other partner and benefits.
- Choose Clicks or Dis-Chem as your preferred HealthyCare partner. You can get up to 25% back at your preferred HealthyCare partner, and 10% back at your other partner.
- Accept the terms and conditions. Your benefit will be in a pending state.
You'll receive an SMS once your benefit is no longer pending. Once you receive the SMS, you can view your updated status on the rewards page.
Once you've activated the benefit with your preferred partner, you can activate your other partner.
You won't be able to activate the HealthyCare benefit at Dis-Chem if you don't have a Dis-Chem Benefit card. If you don't have a Clicks Clubcard, you can apply for one as part of the activation process. Clicks will generate a Clicks Clubcard for you and you'll be able to view your card number on the Clicks app or website. If you have a Clicks Clubcard, you'll need to enter it during the activation.
- During the activation process you will need to select either Clicks or Dis-Chem as your main partner.
- Once you have chosen your main partner, the main member can change it once every 12 months.
- You will get up to 25% back at your main partner and up to 10% back at the other partner.
- If you were an existing HealthyCare member, you will not have to activate the benefit again.
- Clicks or Dis-Chem will be your main partner, depending on which benefits you previously activated.
You can change your primary partner online.
Once the link is selected, click on "Activate HealthyCare" and please sign-in with your Discovery login details. Thereafter, you will be able to change your primary partner.
You will see a Vitality HealthyCare indicator on the shelf if the product falls under this benefit. You will also see "VIT" or "V" next to HealthyCare products on your till slip after you've made your purchase.
When making online purchases there will be a Vitality Logo next to the item you have selected to identify if it is a HealthyCare item.
If you already have a Clicks ClubCard or Dis-Chem card, your ID number will be linked to your cards online and you will not need another card.
If you activate HealthyCare and you do not have a Clicks ClubCard or Dis-Chem HealthyCare card, you will need to first apply and collect these at your nearest store.
When a Vitality 65+ member activates their HealthyCare benefit, you can save up to 50% on select health monitoring devices with the Health Monitor Device benefit. Vitality 65+ members receive a 25% upfront discount on a health monitoring device at Dis-Chem on completion of a Vitality Health Check for 65+ and an additional 25% discount through the HealthyCare benefit.
Vitality Health only members:
- Your Vitality HealthyCare rewards are calculated every month.
- Your rewards will be converted into store loyalty points and paid into your store card after each reward cycle, and you can view these details online on www.clicks.co.za or www.dischem.co.za.

Vitality Health and Discovery Bank members:
- Your Vitality HealthyCare rewards are calculated every month.
- Your rewards will be paid as Discovery Miles into your Discovery Miles account. You can view your reward payout on your Discovery Miles statement in your Discovery Bank App.
- You will not earn Vitality points for buying HealthyCare items.
- You can earn up to 25% back on HealthyCare items from Clicks or Dis-Chem.
- When you activate the HealthyCare benefit, you qualify for up to 10% back on HealthyCare products at Clicks and Dis-Chem.
- Choose your main partner and find out your Vitality Age to get up to 15% back at your main partner and up to 10% back at the other.
- You and your spouse (if applicable) need to find out your Vitality Age every 12 months to increase or keep your rewards at up to 15% back.
- Complete a Vitality Health Check to get up to 25% back at your main partner and up to 10% back at the other.
- You and your spouse (if applicable) need to complete a Vitality Health Check every 12 months to increase or keep your rewards at up to 25% back.
- Qualifying Discovery Bank clients will be able to boost their HealthyCare rewards by an additional 25% depending on their Discovery Bank product, card colour, Vitality Money status and qualifying spend.
- Swipe your Clicks ClubCard at any Clicks till or your Dis-Chem HealthyCare card at any Dis-Chem till before the cashier rings up your items to earn rewards on HealthyCare items.
Purchase from a wide range of HealthyCare products and ensure that the cashier swipes your linked partner card before they ring up your purchases.
For Schedule 1 and 2 over the counter medication, please ensure the pharmacist swipes your linked partner card at the self-medication counter and that the cashier also swipes your partner card when they ring up your purchases.

Only the main member on the Vitality membership is the person responsible for making sure the details are correct.
- Your reward is based on the percentage you have qualified for, your Vitality points and the monthly limit on your Vitality membership.
- To work out how much, you get back, we apply your qualifying reward percentage to your HealthyCare spend in the month.
- The percentage is either 10%, 15% or 25%, depending on all the health checks you have completed.
- As a family, you can get rewards on a maximum of R4 000 a month that you spend on HealthyCare items.
- As a single member, you can get rewards on a maximum of R2 000 a month that you spend on HealthyCare.
- Your HealthyCare spend that you get rewards on is also limited to the number of Vitality points you have for the year. So, make sure you keep doing healthy activities to earn Vitality points.
- Qualifying Discovery Bank clients will be able to boost their HealthyCare rewards by an additional 25% depending on their Discovery Bank product, card colour, Vitality Money status and qualifying spend.

No, you cannot earn Vitality points for buying HealthyCare items
Vitality Health Members
A single HealthyCare payment per benefit will be made every cycle provided that the total amount exceeds R50. If your total reward is less than R50, this will be carried over to the following month and paid out with the next month's reward (provided the total combined amount exceeds R50). You will lose your 1st month reward amount should you not exceed a combined total of more than R50 in your 2nd month, we may change this minimum amount at any time.
Reward payments carried over do not earn interest.
HealthyCare rewards will be paid into your relavent loyalty card at Clicks or Dis-Chem in the form of loyalty points.
Vitality Health and Discovery Bank clients
If you are a Discovery Bank client with Vitality Money, your reward will be paid in Discovery Miles into your Discovery Miles Account. The R50 limit rule before pay out no longer applies. A HealthyCare payment will be made every reward cycle. You can view your reward payout on your Discovery Miles statement in your Discovery Bank app.

If you're 18 years and older you can get up to 25% back on thousands of HealthyFood items at Checkers or Woolworths. Your total HealthyFood reward is calculated based on the following:
- As a Vitality Health member, you can get up to 25% back on HealthyFood items at your primary in-store partner as well as your primary online partner and up to 10% back at your secondary partners.
- Vitality Health members can boost their Vitality HealthyFood rewards up to an additional 50% at their primary HealthyFood partner as a qualifying Discovery Bank client with Vitality Money.

You need a Woolworths WRewards in order to activate the HealthyFood benefit with Woolworths.
If you already have a MySchool, MyVilllage or MyPlanet card already linked to Vitality, these loyalty cards will continue to work.
If you have a MySchool, My Village and MyPlanet card already linked to Vitality but not receiving rewards, you will need to ensure that you have granted permission for Woolworths to share your information with Vitality to complete your activation. - You can WhatsApp Checkers at 087 240 5385 with "Checkers Xtra Savings card number" to receive an image of your linked card number;
- Visit www.checkers.co.za and login with your cellphone number or email address; or
- Open the Checkers Sixty60 app to view your Checkers Xtra Savings card number in your profile under "Account Details".
- Contact Woolworths on 0861 502 050 to request your WRewards card number to be sent via SMS;
- Visit www.woolworths.co.za to view your WRewards card number by logging in and selecting your name at the top of the page to access your profile; or
- Open the Woolworths app to view your WRewards card number by selecting "My Accounts" and then "My Details."
From 01 September 2024, your cashback limit for Vitality Health members will be increased:
- A single member on the Vitality policy can spend up R2 500 per month on healthy foods and
- A family policy can spend up to R5 000 per month on healthy foods .
Each qualifying member who are the main member, spouse, adult dependent and child dependent over the age of 18 years old will be able to activate the HealthyFood benefit provided they have a Checkers Xtra Savings Card or Woolworths WRewards card linked to their ID number.
Each qualifying person will contribute to the overall monthly cap on the policy. Purchases will be calculated on the policy on a first come first serve basis. Example, if the main member purchases R4 000.00 at their HealthyFood partner on the 1st of the month, and the spouse purchases R1 000 on the 13th of the month which will reach the monthly cap, any other purchases made in the month by any other qualifying member will not contribute for rewards as the monthly limit would already have been reached.
You get 20 Vitality points for each HealthyFood item you buy. These points go towards your Vitality Health status and you can earn up to 1 000 points each month. We deduct 20 points for every unhealthy food item you buy, but you can't earn less than 0 points in any given month.
If your points don't reflect after these times, you can contact Vitality for further assistance.
Single members on the Vitality policy will receive Vitality points earned for HealthyFood in the following month.
If you are on a family policy, the member who has the last HealthyFood purchase for the current month will be awarded Vitality HealthyFood points in the following month.
Only the main member on the Vitality policy will be allowed to change the primary partner.
From 01 September 2024, main members will have the ability to select an online as well as an instore primary partner between Checkers and Woolworths once every 12-month rolling period.
However, as a special introductory offer, main members between 01 September 2024 till 31 December 2024 will be allowed to change their primary partners up to a maximum of 2 times, from 01 January 2025, the normal 12-month rolling period rule will apply for any primary partner changes.
You will be able to select an online partner between Checkers sixty60 and Woolies Dash and to select an in-store partner between Checkers and Woolworths to earn up to 25% cash back on qualifying HealthyFood purchases.
Your online and in-store preferred partners do not need to be the same.
We are giving you more ways to earn more cash backs by having separate online and in-store preferred partners.
Changes to your primary partners will be effective from the start of the following month. For example, if you change your primary in-store HealthyFood partner on 4 September from Woolworths to Checkers, you'll earn your maximum rewards for the month of September at Woolworths. And then starting 1 October, you will earn maximum rewards from Checkers as your new primary partner. And if both your Vitality Age and Vitality Health Checks are valid, you will continue to receive 10% back at your secondary partners, until the change becomes effective.
Your HealthyFood rewards will be paid in Ðiscovery Miles, our rewards currency that is more valuable than cash. You'll receive 10 Ðiscovery Miles for every R1 earned. Vitality members get more value by earning and spending Ðiscovery Miles. As a result, we receive many requests to create more Miles-earning opportunities.
Here are some things they are enjoying spending their Ðiscovery Miles on:
- A regular sized coffee for 200 Ðiscovery Miles (equivalent to R20 but worth up to R40)
- A smoothie for 300 Ðiscovery Miles (equivalent to R30 but worth up to R75)

These reviews also ensure we align with comparable market offerings and, importantly, sustain the rewards to support our clients in their healthy behaviours. Since launching in 2019, we've regularly identified new ways to enhance the Discovery Bank Black Suite to give accountholders a richer offering, such as:

We saw an opportunity to improve the HealthyFood benefit to make sure it has the biggest impact for the widest number of clients:
- New in-store partner: From September 2024, Checkers will be a new in-store partner.
- Accommodating new shopping habits: Recognising that shopping habits have evolved, we added a separate selection of in-store and online partners - clients will be able to choose between Checkers and Woolworths for in-store rewards, and Checkers Sixty60 and Woolies Dash for online rewards.
- Increased spend limits: We're raising the HealthyFood spend limits that clients can earn rewards on, and increasing them to a maximum of R2,500 a month for individuals and R5,000 a month for families on eligible Vitality Health memberships.
To accommodate all these enhancements, which we believe will add significant value to a larger portion of clients, we've revised the maximum HealthyFood reward on the Discovery Bank Black Suite. It will give clients incredible savings of up to 50% back on HealthyFood (on the monthly increased spend limit) when combined with the up to 25% back from Vitality Health. And of course, these rewards are paid back to clients in Ðiscovery Miles, which can be used to save up to 30% when spending them through over 40 in-store and online retail partners on Miles Ð-Day on the 15th of every month.
You can purchase qualifying HealthyFood items in-istore at Checkers or Woolworths or online at Checkers Sixty60 or Woolies Dash. For instore purchases, when at the cashier please ensure that you swipe your relevant Checkers Xtra Savings card or Woolworths WRewards card at the partner or when purchasing online, please ensure that your loyalty card is linked to your online profile before making your purchase in order to receive up to 25% back on your HealthyFood items purchased.
Discovery Bank members can pay using their Discovery Bank credit card in order to boost their cash backs to up to 75% depending on your card colour, Vitality Money Status and qualifying spend on your credit card.
You will receive your cash backs for your current month's purchases in the first fifteen days of the following month. These rewards will be paid into the main member's Discovery Miles Account.
Present and swipe your Checkers Xtra Savings card or Woolworths WRewards card at the till before the cashier rings up your purchases to earn up to 25% back through the Vitality Health programme at your primary partners. Secondary partners will earn up to 10% back.
Note: If you have a MySchool, MyVillage or MyPlanet card already linked to Vitality, qualifying purchases made using these cards will continue to earn rewards, for new HealthyFood activations you will need a Woolworths WRewards card only.
Alternatively, when making an online purchase through Checkers Sixty60 or Woolies Dash, ensure that your Checkers Xtra Savings card or Woolworths WRewards card is added to your online profile before making your purchases.
To boost your rewards up to an additional 50% through the Vitality Money programme, simply pay for your purchases using your qualifying Discovery Card.
Your total HealthyFood reward is based on the Vitality health assessments you complete, your Vitality Money status, Discovery Bank account type and your qualifying Discovery Card spend. Each member over the age of 18 years old can activate the HealthyFood benefit and will need to complete their own Vitality health assessments to increase their primary partner percentage at their primary partners.
- Activate your HealthyFood benefit and select your primary partner to start earning rewards.
- Increase your reward up to 25% at your primary partner when you complete a Vitality Age assessment and a Vitality Health Check.
- Boost your HealthyFood rewards up to an additional 75% as a Vitality Health member and a qualifying Discovery Bank client with the Vitality Money programme. To earn your boosted HealthyFood reward from Vitality Money, you need to qualify for rewards by:
- Keeping your qualifying Discovery Bank account in good standing. Make your minimum payment due by your billing date.
- Having a minimum qualifying spend within a 12-month period. If you've opened your account at a later stage in the 12-month period, we'll adjust your qualifying spend accordingly. Qualifying spend applies to Discovery Card and online purchases only. Cash withdrawals, EFTs, gambling, inter-account transfers and payments don't qualify.
- Have the minimum amount required deposited into your qualifying Discovery Bank account every month over 12 months. For example, you need to pay your salary into the account or make a payment from another external account into your qualifying Discovery Bank account. If you have had your account for less than 12 months, we'll adjust the period accordingly.
- Having 40% of your credit balances with Discovery Bank or use at least 50% of your credit facility during the month. You need to have a minimum credit balance of R5 000.
- Have a savings balance in your Discovery Savings Account, Discovery Notice Savings Account, Discovery Fixed Deposit Account or Vitality Savings Account of R50 000, or at least 20% of your total savings in a Discovery Bank savings account.
You need to keep your valid receipts for 90 (ninety) working days after purchase:
- In case you have a query related to your reward
- To verify your purchases
- To award the appropriate rewards for your quality purchases
The following would invalidate your receipt, and do not qualify you for rewards:
- Receipts that have been photoshopped or photocopied.
- Receipts created by a partner employee for purchases you did not buy
- Blank images with no receipts in view
- Receipts that are unclear or have blurry images
- Receipts that are missing information, such as the partner's name and loyalty card number. We require a full receipt with all information (no information must be cut off or missing from the receipt)
- Receipts submitted for the incorrect partner. This is when the receipt you submit does not match the selected partner or is not from a partner associated with the benefit
- We will not accept a bank statement in place of a receipt.
To boost your rewards up to an additional 50% through the Vitality Money programme, simply pay for your purchases using your qualifying Discovery Card.
Please check and confirm on the HealthyFood catalogues for a list of all qualifying items for the HealthyFood benefit at Checkers and Woolworths. If your item is qualifying and have not received a reward for it, you are able to query the missing qualifying item within 90 days of your transaction.
Please ensure that you have your till slip or invoice (for online purchases) and contact Vitality to query your missing qualifying item. Our servicing team will assist you accordingly.
Once the item has been returned to the store, please ensure that your loyalty card is swiped on the return as well.
If the return is processed in the month of purchase, Vitality will automatically process your return and you will receive your month's reward without the items that were returned.
If the return is processed in the following month, Vitality will claim back the amount of the reward paid for your returned items on your HealthyFood benefit. How will we do this? We will process the reward paid for your return first against future purchases and then pay your remaining balance of rewards to you.
Ðiscovery Miles is our rewards currency that's more valuable than cash, with so many ways to spend them.
We have received numerous requests for more ways to earn Ðiscovery Miles and have decided to change our rewards structure for HealthyFood to Ðiscovery Miles from 1 September 2024.
We are in the process of transitioning a few of our other rewards to be paid in Ðiscovery Miles and will keep members informed.

If you are a Discovery Bank client with a qualifying Discovery Bank account and Vitality Money (including a Ðiscovery Account with zero-monthly fee), you will be able to monetize your Ðiscovery Miles in the Discovery Bank app which will be paid into your Discovery Bank account.
If you are not a Discovery Bank client, you will not be able to convert your Ðiscovery Miles. You can use your Ðiscovery Miles in the Vitality Mall available on the Discovery app to buy discounted vouchers to use at our range of partners.
Discovery Bank clients are able to view a detailed Ðiscovery Miles statement in the Discovery Bank app with all Ðiscovery Miles earned, including from HealthyFood rewards.
If you are a Vitality Health member without a Discovery Bank account, you can chat to us on WhatsApp to find out the amount of Ðiscovery Miles earned for the previous month.
Ðiscovery Miles have a conversion rate of R1:10 Ðiscovery Miles (ÐM). For every R1 earned we will award 10 Ðiscovery Miles. As an example, if you earned R100 in HealthyFood rewards, you will receive 1,000 Ðiscovery Miles.
If you close your Discovery Bank account, you will lose your Ðiscovery Miles. Remember to spend all your Ðiscovery Miles either in the Vitality Mall or with our Ðiscovery Miles partners, or cash them out before you close your account.
You will be able to enjoy boosted rewards by being a Discovery Bank client. Discovery Bank clients are able to view a detailed Điscovery Miles statement in the Discovery Bank app with all Điscovery Miles earned, including from HealthyFood rewards.
You will be able to use your Điscovery Miles to shop at over 40 online and in-store retail partners, buy prepaid airtime or electricity, send them to your mobile contacts, use them to pay for your flights, accommodation and car hire on Vitality Travel, monetize them and more.
All Vitality Health HealthyFood rewards will be paid to the main member's Ðiscovery Miles Account, unless a member on the policy has a qualifying Discovery Bank product.
If another member on your policy has a Discovery Bank product, they will receive the Vitality Health and Vitality Money portion paid into their own Ðiscovery Miles Account. This is based on purchases made by their own linked partner loyalty card and where applicable payment has been made by their Discovery Bank credit card.
The main member on the policy has the ability to revoke consent for the Vitality Health portion of Ðiscovery Miles to be paid to other members and this will be paid to the main member's Ðiscovery Miles account. However, other members on the Vitality policy with Discovery Bank will still receive the Vitality Money portion paid in their own Ðiscovery Miles account if consent has already been revoked.
Checkers has been added as a Vitality HealthyFood partner to make the benefit more accessible to more members and to cater for members who have different preferences for their primary grocer, based on a variety of factors. A large proportion of Vitality members currently shop at Checkers or use Checkers Sixty60 for grocery delivery. This does not prevent you from switching to a HealthyFood partner of your choice.
At the moment, the HealthyFood benefit is available at Checkers only. Vitality does review its benefits on a continual basis and will adjust the offering based on member needs. Should the partnership be extended, we'll communicate this to all members.
Ensure that you have your ID number updated on the Checkers Xtra Savings platform either online or in-store. Activate your HealthyFood benefit on the Discovery website, and as long as your ID number is the same on Checkers and Discovery, your Xtra savings card will be linked on the system.

Xtra Savings Plus is accessed via the Sixty60 App and a customer needs to link their existing Xtra Savings Card via the Sixty60 App to their profile. Please note that Xtra Savings Plus is a subscription offering on the Sixty60 App with its own benefits. Extra Savings Plus should not have an impact on the Vitality HealthyFood rewards as this is a separate subscription offering on Sixty60.
Yes, you can if you have linked your ID to your profile. Note that you only earn HealthyFood rewards when shopping at Checkers, not when shopping at Shoprite. If you swipe your Shoprite Xtra savings card at Checkers and you are a Vitality member with your ID linked to your profile, you will earn HealthyFood rewards for your transaction.
You can find your Checkers Xtra Savings card number on the Checkers Sixty60 app. Simply tap on Profile, then select Account details at the top to view your card number.
Visit your nearest Checkers store to obtain a new Checkers Xtra Savings card and ensure that your ID number is linked to that card. Provided that your HealthyFood benefit is activated, you can start making purchases with your linked card, and will earn HealthyFood cash backs for qualifying items purchased.

The HealthyFood benefit has ended at Pick n Pay stores and on-demand platforms on 31 August 2024.
Pick n Pay has been a longstanding Vitality partner, and we will continue to collaborate in many ways, including the continuation of members spending their Ðiscovery Miles at Pick n pay and through the Vitality Mall.
You will earn rewards on qualifying purchases made until the end of the day on 31 August 2024. These rewards will be paid by 15 September 2024.
Transactions made from 1 September 2024 onwards at Pick n Pay will not qualify for HealthyFood rewards.
Yes, you can still spend your Ðiscovery Miles at Pick n Pay.As a Vitality member, you can choose to redeem a Pick n Pay voucher in the Vitality Mall.
And if you have the Discovery Bank app, you can spend Ðiscovery Miles in-store at your personalised discount, depending what Discovery products you have. Plus, still enjoy Miles Ð-Day.
We will accommodate for any missing or late transactions that has not been received that took place on or before 31 August 2024.
Also, it will be helpful if you retain your till slips to query your rewards that was not paid to you and can query this directly with Vitality for assistance.

If you would like to still make use of Pick n Pay we suggest that you collect a Pick n Pay SmartShopper card from any one of Pick n Pay stores and start earning smart shopper points for your purchases made however you will not earn any HealthyFood rewards for purchases made at Pick n Pay after 31 August 2024.
