How we calculate your fuel cash back

Your fuel cash back depends on your Vitality Drive Status, which is determined by your Vitality Drive points. Quite simply, we take your Vitality Drive Status percentage from the previous month and multiply it by the lower of your Vitality Drive points earned in the previous month OR your total fuel and Gautrain spend in the current month, to get your fuel cash back value.

For example, to calculate your fuel cash back for March, you would take February's Vitality Drive Status (50% for achieving Diamond status) and multiply this by the lower of your 2,550 Vitality Drive points earned in February and the R2,600 spent on fuel during March. This will give you the total amount paid out at the end of March: R1,275.

This breakdown offers a simple visual representation of the above:

*Effective 1 July 2023, your fuel cash back will not be able to be more than your vehicle premium (excluding VAT).
