What is PayShap, and why use it?

PayShap is an instant interbank electronic payment scheme which lets you instantly pay or be paid using just a ShapID, Username or bank account details.

What is PayShap Request?

PayShap Request is a new PayShap service that lets you send and receive requests for payment, to and from people that use a different bank than yours.

• A sender can use the receiver's bank account details or ShapID to send a payment request.
• Payment requests are sent to the receiver instantly.
• Once approved by the receiver, payment requests are paid out to the sender instantly.

PayShap Request is available for anyone using these banks, and has a registered ShapID:

• African Bank
• Capitec
• Discovery

Set up your Discovery Bank ShapID in your app today

To send and receive PayShap payments and PayShap Requests, you need to bank with a bank that offers PayShap, like Discovery Bank. You can then pay others or be paid instantly yourself using either a ShapID (bank-registered cellphone number) or bank account details.

With a ShapID, you can enjoy the convenience of never having to ask for banking details to make a payment or to get paid.

To set up your ShapID, simply:

• Log in to the Discovery Bank app
• Tap the More menu
• Tap PayShap
• Follow the steps
