Kids, earn 2 500 Discovery Miles for being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
We're rewarding all of our members for taking their health into their own hands and getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Getting out there as a vaccinated family is just the beginning!
Exciting news! By getting fully vaccinated against COVID-19, children under 18 years old that qualify for a vaccine will be rewarded with 2 500 Discovery Miles. Remember, currently Kids and Teens aged 12 to 17 are eligible for two Pfizer vaccines to be considered fully vaccinated. You will need to capture proof of your child's COVID-19 vaccination on Connected Care. Please keep reading to find out how.
If fully vaccinated by 31 March 2022, these Discovery Miles will start being allocated onto their Vitality Active Rewards profile from early February to April 2022, so if you haven't yet, sign them up for Vitality Active Rewards today!
Getting your child rewarded and onto Vitality Active Rewards
Getting them started is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
Vitality Active Rewards for Kids (2 - 13 years old):
Step 1: Make sure you have the latest version of the Discovery app downloaded.
Step 2: As the Vitality main member, go to your Vitality Active Rewards profile in the Discovery app.
Step 3: Under the 'Kids and Teens' section, activate Vitality Active Rewards for Kids for each eligible child.
Step 4: Create a profile for your child.
Your child will be only able to engage with the app on your mobile device to ensure digital safety.
Vitality Active Rewards for Teens (14 - 17 years old):
Step 1: As the Vitality main member of the policy, go into your Vitality Active Rewards profile on the Discovery app and give consent for your teen to activate Vitality Active Rewards for Teens.
Step 2: Now it's the teen's turn to download the Discovery app on their device, create their own profile, activate Vitality Active Rewards for Teens and start getting rewarded for being active and healthy!
Making sure your child receives their Discovery Miles
If your child is not active on Vitality Active Rewards, once you have helped them to activate and a create a profile, they will need to wait until the middle of the following month for the Discovery Miles to be allocated.
To make sure that your child receives their 2 500 Discovery Miles, please see that their completed vaccination record is up to date on the Discovery Connected Care platform by following these steps:
- Log in using your Discovery website username and password.
- In the top navigation menu, select "Medical Aid".
- Access the Connected Care platform.
- Click the "Vaccination Navigator".
- Select who you on your policy you're checking for.
- Check to see if your child reflects as fully vaccinated. If they are, their Discovery Miles will be automatically allocated from early February to April 2022.

Don't forget, that when capturing your child's vaccination on Connected Care, it tells us that you consent to Discovery Vitality processing your child's vaccination data for purposes of awarding the Discovery Miles under the Vitality Active Rewards for Kids and Vitality Active Rewards for Teens programmes.
