Mxolisi Mthethwa was relieved to find affordable health insurance cover in the form of Flexicare after using government healthcare facilities for four years. In the months since he activated his policy, Mxolisi has enjoyed several Flexicare benefits.

Mxolisi, who works as a field manager in retail, used to have medical aid cover through his employer.
"I was retrenched in 2019 and as a result was no longer covered by medical aid. For four years I had to use government facilities whenever I got sick. The clinics I went to were untidy and the service in the hospitals was very poor. I had to queue there for a long time and sometimes they didn't have medicine in stock," he says of his experience.
"I researched health insurance options after I got a new job in 2023."
