What is the Ask Africa Banking Brand Index?

This index is a comprehensive analysis based on 3,850 independently audited interviews. It combines data from the 2024 Ask Afrika Brand Health Research and the 2024 Ask Afrika Orange Index, providing deep insights into customer perceptions and brand performance across the banking industry.

Receiving ratings as high as 10 out of 10 for brand emotion and satisfaction means our clients are more than satisfied, they're delighted. Discovery Bank outperformed the industry in several areas

Here are some key areas the bank excelled in, beyond the industry standard:

  • Customer-centricity: scoring 20.3% above average for having customers' best interests at heart.
  • Innovation: scoring 17.3% above average for disruptive banking.
  • Rewards and benefits: scoring 21.7% above average for offering excellent benefits and rewards.
  • Family-focus: ranked 16.8% above average for recognising family banking needs.

Discovery Bank's internal data also supports the recent Ask Afrika findings. It shows that with Vitality Money and smart money management, clients earned over R61 million in interest on savings and saved over R28 million in interest repayments in 2023. They also saved over R640 million on more than 900,000 discounted flights through Vitality Travel.
