Security alert: You need different passwords |Truecaller scam
Our security experts have recently learnt of a new scam doing the rounds. To keep you safe, we've put together information about the importance of having different passwords for all your online accounts.
You must use a different password for each of your online accounts
Fraudsters exploit the fact that people use the same username and password for multiple websites. It's safer to use different passwords for every website you use. The reason for this is that if one website's security is compromised, then any website that shares the same login credentials could also be at risk.
Your security is our highest priority. Please use a unique password to protect your Discovery profile, and don't reuse a password that you use for any other online profile. If you don't have a unique password for your Discovery profile, visit our Get Help page on our website and update your details.
The Truecaller scam
Fraudsters are now using the Truecaller app to impersonate bank representatives by creating fake profiles on the app. If you use the app, please be extra careful when answering phone calls that come from banks. If you're unsure, rather hang up and call your bank back on their correct number.
Never give out your card details, passwords, PINs or OTPs over the phone or by email. Remember that your bank would never ask you for such confidential information.
Report fraudulent activity
Contact your bank immediately if you suspect any fraudulent activity.
