Why is it important to do a Vitality Health Check every year?
The Vitality Health Check gives you a valuable snapshot of your health status. By completing a Vitality Health Check, you can identify your health risks across five measures: body-mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and smoking status. But that's not all...
A Vitality Health Check also empowers you to proactively manage your health risks through lifestyle changes and suitable treatments. Just one assessment a year can enhance your overall wellbeing and give you more years lived in good health.
For example, an average 40-year-old Vitality member who identifies and manages their risk of diabetes could live five years longer than predicted and eight years longer in good health.
In 2024, we're adjusting the number of Vitality points you can earn for completing a Vitality Health Check to encourage you not only to know your health but to take steps to improve your health and change your life story.
Vitality points in 2024
You can earn up to 22,500 Vitality points for completing a Vitality Health Check. From 1 January 2024, you'll earn 5,000 Vitality points for doing the assessment and up to 17,500 additional Vitality points based on your results.
You'll earn additional Vitality points if you have two or more results in range and no high-risk results. If you have one or more high-risk results, you'll only earn 5,000 points.
This incentivises you to take action to address these modifiable health risks by seeking treatment, changing your lifestyle, or engaging with programmes such as Vitality HealthyWeight, and any of our smoking cessation partners.
If you take steps to improve your health, you can do another Vitality Health Check after 90 days and earn the remainder of your Vitality points based on your results.

In 2024, all Vitality members will enjoy a minimum flight discount of 10%. You can increase your flight discount to 25% by completing a Vitality Age assessment and Vitality Health Check.
Plus, boost your flight discount to up to 75% with Discovery Bank. Your individual discount depends on your qualifying bank account, card colour, product, Vitality Money status and spend.
So, by getting a Vitality Health Check, you get the insights you need to understand your health, the motivation you need to manage your health risks, and the rewards you need to make healthy choices more affordable.
