Yes. We created the Ðiscovery Account, which has no monthly fees, to give Vitality members fully secure access and use of Vitality Travel to enjoy their Vitality discounts on their travel bookings.

The Vitality Travel platform gives you even more security, and a seamless end-to-end travel booking and payment experience. It provides a much broader offering, including discounts on all local airlines.

The Ðiscovery Account gives you access to the platform and bank-level security.

Until recently, Vitality Travel was only available to Discovery Bank clients, because you need a secure Discovery Bank login and verification profile to access the platform. However, when kulula.com shut down in June, Vitality members were no longer able to book discounted travel, so we had to quickly find another solution for our Vitality members to enjoy this benefit. The Ðiscovery Account is the solution. While the zero-monthly-fee Ðiscovery Account gives you access to Vitality Travel with all your Vitality discounts, it is valuable to know that you get boosted discounts with certain Discovery Bank accounts. You do not pay transaction costs on your Ðiscovery Account when making a Vitality Travel booking. However, your primary bank may charge you to make a deposit or for an instant payment made into the Ðiscovery Account.

As per standard onboarding procedure, we conduct a no-impact credit check to enable your Ðiscovery account and Vitality Money. This will not impact your credit record and is used to award you Vitality Money points. You will not be declined based on the credit check.

Vitality members without South African identity documents will be able to access the Vitality Travel booking platform in the near future.

Vitality Travel is currently accessed on a laptop or desktop, through the Discovery Bank online platform. Go to discovery.co.za, then sign in with your Discovery login details and navigate to "Travel".

You will soon be able to access Vitality Travel from the Discovery Bank app as well.

Because savings accounts do not have a physical or virtual card number, you need to activate your zero-monthly-fee Ðiscovery Account or another Discovery Bank account to book on Vitality Travel. Using your Ðiscovery Account virtual card to make the purchase adds another layer of security, as you will be required to authorise transactions with your Discovery Bank app.

With Vitality, which includes Vitality Money and Vitality Health, you can get discounts on local and international flights - on both the base fare and fuel surcharges (YQ tax) - as well as on accommodation and car hire.

Your personalised discounts are based on your Discovery Bank product, Vitality Money status, Vitality Health status (if applicable) and qualifying credit card spend. With Vitality Money and Vitality Health you can get from:

10% to 75% off local flights
10% to 75% off international flights
10% to 25% off accommodation
10% to 25% off car hire.

You can use your personalised Vitality discount on six one way (or three return) local or regional flights and two international flight bookings per calendar year. Thereafter, you will receive a flat rate of 10% off for the rest of the calendar year flights you book.

All international bookings on Vitality Travel are automatically covered by Discovery Travel Insurance, with the option of purchasing additional top-up cover.
